Welcome to, what I think, is the first independent guide to eating out in Norwich.

I should really introduce myself before telling you about my restaurant experiences. My name is Paul Fleet. I am 30 and a fundraiser for a national charity. Before that I had ten years experience in the catering industry, working in Canterbury, London, Auckland, Melbourne and Southwold. I know what good service should be and I’ve dealt with all kinds of people over the years. I would say I’m a pretty good cook. You wouldn’t be disappointed if you came to my house for dinner I’m sure.
I started this guide because I realised there wasn’t one for Norwich. This city has a lot of good (and not so good!) places to eat but not enough is written about them. I think it will be helpful to the people of Norwich and the surrounding area. My aim isn’t to criticise places but to show you what is out there and the diversity of what is on offer in Norwich.
However, I won’t be afraid to name and shame restaurants that overcook steaks (my absolute bugbear), give bad service or don’t give me and my friends value for money. I think nowadays, because people can cook very well at home themselves, the bar has risen for all restaurants and customer expectations are a lot higher. My expectations aren't that amazing. All I want is a good night out, good service and food that is at least as good or even better than I can cook at home… That’s not too much to ask is it?
